Bedroom Remodeling

s
These are pics of our new room. We built the walk in closet and are slowly moving in.
We have been working on remodeling our bedroom since January! Last week Scott and I were able to move back into our room! Hurray! We have been sleeping downstairs in Jonah's room for the past 8 weeks. It is great to be back upstairs. Sharing a bathroom with three boys has been the biggest inconvenience. But I am grateful we have enough room to fit downstairs. We had new shutters put in our bay window but they were the wrong style so it will be another 2 months before those are put in. We decided to remodel our master bath once we started our bedroom. Today the toilet is being put in! My vanity I ordered on March 4 is now not going to be here until the end of May. Yesterday I painted our new doors and today I am painting the door frames so our project is not quite finished but I wanted to show off what we have done.

Jonah's Pinewood Derby

Jonah's car is in the lead!

Jonah's Pinewood Derby was last Thursday for our stake and then Saturday morning for the district. Jonah turned 9 on Tuesday so his leaders wanted him to race as a Wolf. There was only one other wolf, Jordan, who is Jonah's friend and is in our Primary. There were 8 Bears racing. Jonah and Jordan raced twice, which Jonah's car won both, so the Cubmaster said that's it. I asked if they could race again for fun. She didn't go for it. The Bears got to race their car at least 10 times. It is fun to see your car race even if you don't win. Saturday we went to district, which is just our stake and one other nondenominational pack. So there were only 3 Wolves! Jonah took 1st and Jordan took 3rd, they each got a trophy so they were happy. Since last year our stake has combined the wards for cubscouts which is great because we have so few kids. Jordan is the only Wolf in the whole stake until his birthday this summer! Jonah recieved his Wolf badge at the Blue and Gold banquet in February.

Scott's on Facebook

I helped Scott get on Facebook as part of a State Farm connection. I don't know how much will be put on it because I still blog and Scott isn't the one to put pics up. We'll see...but if you want to be his friend check it out.

Grandma's Pool

It is great to be able to swim in the middle of March! We love Grandma's pool!

Hannah and Noah's Trip to Carson City

Noah's favorite part of the trip- the candy store in Virginia City
Who's taller, Hannah or Ryan?
Ready to swim?

Spring Break

Our traditional flag ceremony with Great-grandpa Sweningsen. Did anyone notice the Illinois poster held by Jonah? My Grandpa lives and dies by thier team.

s Grandpa Chuck was teaching them how to stand at attention.

I took our kids over to Boulder City for Spring Break. Hannah and Noah flew with my mom to Reno on Monday night and spent two days in Carson City. They went to watch their Grandpa Hardy in action as an Assemblyman. They both had a great time. They were there on St.Patrick's Day so they got to see Irish dancers and someone playing the bagpipe. They were introduced on the floor and Hannah was introduced as a 3rd generation Nevadan (she was born in Reno). They watched voting and went to a committee meeting where Grandpa introduced legislation. They went to Virginia City, and saw where Mark Twain was the newspaper editor, a cemetery, candy shop and a saloon where the miners would go to a corner to shoot themselves when they lost money. They went to Lake Tahoe, Hannah said she knows why everyone comes to Lake Powell because Tahoe is so cold! They got to hang out with Ryan and Cara and loved it. Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for a fun trip from Hannah and Noah! While I was in BC with Jonah, Ezra and Esther we went to see the dolphins, tigers, and lions at the Mirage with Delyse, Hazel, Yvonne and Benjamin and went swimming a couple times a day.
